Education Opportunities Working Group report released

Quick post to share that the Mayor's Office released its Education Opportunities Working Group report on Monday afternoon at Veazie Street Elementary School. The report, Educate Providence, is available at for your perusal. I've downloaded the full 89 page report but have not yet read - will do, and would love thoughts from any of you who have had the time to dive in. What do the recommendations that resulted from the Education Opportunities Working Group's work mean for our city's schools immediately and long-term?

  1. The report itself is about 15 pages, with lots of useless appendixes of widely spaced out demographic information about the schools which is readily available elsewhere.

I would describe it as a very slight elaboration on the mayor's campaign platform. Disturbingly inconsequential.
